Description:

This is an individual Hindi poetry slam event

Regulations:

  • Composition should be an original work of the participant. Plagiarism of any kind is not allowed.
  • Language used should be Hindi. However, use of Urdu to certain extent is allowed and left to judges’ discretion.
  • Each participant is allowed to have one piece.
  • The pieces need to be submitted before the deadline. No alterations can be made to the pieces once submitted.
  • Submit your entries at the email id [email protected] by the given deadline above.
  • Obscenity of any kind is not allowed.
  • Participants may carry a piece of paper or phone which they may refer to while reciting.

  • Jazz poetry and beat poetry won’t carry any extra marks.
  • Participants may carry a piece of paper or phone which they may refer to while reciting.

Number of Adjudicators per IIT:

A minimum of 2 adjudicators per speaker team.

There will be an adjudication test for all the adjudicators to decide the adjes on the panel. Please note that there will be an upper limit on the number of adjes making it to the panel from each IIT to avoid speaker team and adj clashes.

(If the speaker teams fails to fulfil the minimum requirement for adjudicators, there will be a penalty of 5 points from the overall tally.)

Tournament Structure:

  • There will be 3 preliminary rounds in which teams will be ranked according to wins and losses.
  • In the event of a tie, speaker scores and margin of victory shall be used.
  • This will be followed by the top 8 teams qualifying to further rounds(comprising of three debates), followed by the Semi Finals and Final.
  • A panel comprising of 4 core adjudicators will be appointed to set the motions and conduct the debate.
  • The final position of each IIT will be decided by taking into account the performance of the speaking teams as well as the adjudicators. The weightage of the speaking team will be 70% of the overall score and the rest of the weightage will be carried by adjudicators.

Please note that the tournament structure in terms of the number of rounds may change slightly depending on the number of participating teams and A level adjudicators.

Description:

This is an individual event in which the participants have to perform stand up comedy in front of the audience.

Regulations:

  • Participants have to prepare a sketch that is to be performed in front of the live audience
  • Any plagiarism will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Any form of pre-recorded music is not allowed during performance.
  • Props are allowed but carry no weightage. Participants can use it to enhance the performance.
  • Visual aids (slides/videos/pictures) are not to be used.
  • The performance can be in Hindi or English or both.
  • Obscenity is left to judges’ discretion.

Penalty:

  • Exceeding the time limit will cause deduction of 5 marks per minute.
  • After 10 minutes, the participant will be asked to leave the stage along with a penalty of 10 marks.
